VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS)-Victoria Goff has been named national coordinator of Volunteer Ministries, replacing Jacci White, who retires this month.
A member of National Ministries' staff since 1992, Goff has served as electronic media coordinator for about five years and as Overland White Cross coordinator for nearly three years. She also serves as National Ministries' consultant with American Baptist Women's Ministries, a position to which she was appointed in 2003. Goff will continue in her roles serving White Cross and Women's Ministries in her new position.
"My vision to expand volunteer ministries includes finding new ways to connect with new partners in mission, such as campus ministries," says Goff. She sees possibilities for new opportunities for service, with strengthened emphasis on recruitment of youth in particular. "My experiences facilitating Overland White Cross and working with American Baptist Women's Ministries have given me a foundation to create even more opportunities than now exist to involve volunteers in vital work."
Goff's appointment signals a new direction and renews National Ministries' commitment to provide exemplary service to individuals and churches seeking to serve Christ and the world through volunteerism. Dr. David Laubach, associate executive director, program ministries, says, "Vickie brings technology gifts that will continue to build up volunteerism Web pages, increase our capacity for PowerPoint and media presentations, and introduce new communications vehicles."
