The MECC Women¹s Program pursues its activities under this theme. The last meeting of the series was held on June 17, 2006, at the Atchaneh Monastery of the Syrian Orthodox Church in Lebanon.
Over 120 women attended the event that focused on ³Hope and Joy². The program of the day included an ecumenical prayer, a biblical reflection on Sarah, Abraham¹s wife. Through the reflection ³we followed her journey with her husband?and after a long wait, the promise of God was fulfilled and their hope came true² said Maha Milki Wehbe, coordinator of the event.
Mother Marie Xavier Scaff, main speaker of the day asked participant to com e up with a definition of hope. Sharing their thoughts and perspectives, participants came out with a definition centered on faith, love, the cross and the resurrection, as well as on the challenge, silence and prayer. The meeting ended with an Agape reception.
