VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS)-"Response to Hurricane Katrina," a PowerPoint presentation shared at the General Board meeting of American Baptist Churches USA last week, has been added to National Ministries' Web site. Also, new Web pages addressing the Children in Poverty Initiative on National Ministries' site have been launched.
The PowerPoint can be accessed directly at:
http://nationalministries.sharepointsite.com/katrina/Katrina%20Resources /Katrina_Response.pps or from a link on the right hand side of the National Ministries' home page. The PowerPoint presentation is a 12 MB file which will download/open most quickly on broadband connection. Please be patient when accessing files over slower connections.
This presentation includes background information on Katrina, details about relief work that American Baptist Churches USA has been a part of, and pictures that were taken by National Ministries' staff members.
The new Web pages for the Children in Poverty Initiative can be viewed at: http://www.nationalministries.org/CIP/.
These newly developed pages seek to inform about upcoming events and opportunities for action. There is a news article about an upcoming Children's Sabbath event in Washington, D.C., as well as a new and growing collection of resources that includes free downloads and links to other groups working on the problem. Also, there are new "Your Ministry and Mission Stories" pages allowing for sharing of both concerns and solutions on the issue, and part of the site is now available in Spanish.
