World Alliance of Reformed Churches News Release 12 July 2006

ALLIANCE CONDEMNS INDIA BLASTS

The World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) has expressed its outrage over the deadly bomb blasts that killed about 200 persons and injured many more in Mumbai, India.

In a letter to the Church of South India, a WARC member church, and the Evangelical Fellowship of India, the Alliance's general secretary Setri Nyomi also offered condolences to the many families affected.

"It is with a sense of shock that we heard of the cowardly act of simultaneous blasts that cut short almost 200 lives in Srinagar and Mumbai. We are outraged that these criminal violent acts continue to plague our times.

"We pray that God will comfort the families affected and that the authorities will have the right kind of wisdom in their investigations and responses. We continue to accompany you, our churches in India, as you minister within communities affected by these terrible occurrences.

"May God bless you," Nyomi said.
