THE LUTHERAN CHURCH Missouri Synod
Friday Morning July 21 2006: The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod International Center (IC) in Kirkwood, MO continues to be without electric service for the second day. The Wednesday evening storm in the greater Saint Louis area has caused widespread power outages. In Kirkwood, more that 3,800 homes were affected by downed power lines. Across the city, there were more that 500,000 residents impacted by the storm. The local power company, Ameren UE <http://www.ameren.com/AboutUs/adc_newsfull.asp?NewsSeqID=527> is getting mutual aid assistance from surrounding states.
The International Center did not sustain any damage except for a few trees damaged on the property. All IC phone service is currently inoperative including the 1-888-THE-LCMS Church Information Center line. The offices will reopen once power is restored.
