The MECC liaison office in Cyprus worked closely with the Churches in Cyprus to assess the number of Lebanese evacuees in Cyprus and their needs with respect to relief and accommodation. The office in Limassol was able to meet the needs of several individuals, couples and families evacuated from Lebanon by boats and referred by MECC Beirut office, facilitating their 3-days stay in Cyprus and travel arrangements for other countries. The Government of Cyprus received a restricted number of evacuees, taking their full responsibility. Finally, the Church of Cyprus, the Armenian Church in Cyprus in addition to the Government, sent relief supplies to Lebanon. The Church of Cyprus also announced that the funds collected on Sundays from parishioners will be allocated for relief to the Lebanese people in Lebanon.
