This one-year project will be implemented in the different regions of Lebanon. The first phase of the project was implemented in North Lebanon, few days before the war started with a day and half meeting on July 8-9, 2006, with key people in the community, including representatives of NGOs. The objective of the meeting was to facilitate the reflection on issues related to the topic addressed, from the participants¹ local context, and t o set priorities for a plan of action to be implemented in their communities, under the supervision of the MECC/JPHR.
Participants set a program of work for follow up in other regions of Lebanon. Some of the sessions will address team building, conflict transformation, religious values and human rights. Others will identify priorities within the topics of ³Citizenship and Identity², ³Transitional Peaceful Shift to Democracy². The last part of the program will discuss th e future cooperation between NGOs and JPHR. Space was given to the evaluation of each phase of the implementation. A questionnaire was prepared for this purpose to be circulated in due time to participants and working groups. JPHR hopes to resume this activity in Lebanon, as soon as the situation permits.
