In memory of St. John Chrysostomos¹ Teachings in the Universal Church, and 1600 years of his death, the Ecumenical Council of Christian Church Leaders in Aleppo, Syria, decided to hold this commemoration in 2007 through variou s spiritual activities including liturgical ceremonies, forums, lectures, exhibitions, dramas, recitals, and a pilgrimage.
The opening ceremony on the 27th of April 2007 was marked by His Grace Bishop Michel Abras¹ lecture entitled: ³John Chrysostomos in the Arabic Libraries² held at St. Georgios Greek Catholic Church in Aleppo.
The celebrations will end with a ³Pilgrimage² to the Blessed City of Antioc h (Turkey) in October 2007. The invitation is open to all faithful.
