VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 9/19/07) ― American Baptist Homes and Caring Ministries (ABHCM) has launched a new Web site to highlight its work serving more than 20,000 children, elders and differently-abled persons every day through retirement campuses, affordable housing, children's and family services, and special needs programs.
Visit the site―www.abhcm.org―for program news and events, opportunities for employment and continuing education, and guidelines for accreditation in the EAGLE (Educational Assessment Guidelines Leading toward Excellence) program. Visitors can also locate ABHCM residential services at the site.
In addition, the site offers information about getting involved at ABHCM facilities across the country through White Cross and volunteering. An ABHCM history is also included, along with a link for contributing to American Baptist special offerings.
American Baptist Homes and Caring Ministries is the new name for the former American Baptist Homes and Hospitals Association. The name change reflects the association's new focus on relationships and service extended into the community, not just on residences and facilities. ABHCM is now involved, for example, in outpatient care and enabling people to stay in their homes longer.
The Rev. Aundreia Alexander, National Ministries' national coordinator of Community Ministries, says, "This new Web site is a reflection of the vibrancy and energy of the association as it creates communities that transform lives."
Future plans to enhance opportunities for electronic communication among ABHCM members include an e-newsletter and a blog focusing on issues facing those involved in these caring ministries.
National Ministries, American Baptist Churches USA, proudly partners with ABHCM through staff service support, volunteers, White Cross contributions and funding for special projects to provide caring ministries across the country.
