House of Bishops' statement draws mixed reactions
By Mary Frances Schjonberg
[Episcopal News Service] Organizations and individuals representing differing viewpoints in the Episcopal Church have begun to respond to actions taken by the House of Bishops on the final day of their September 20-25 meeting (http://episcopalchurch.org/89878_ENG_HTM.htm) in New Orleans.
Most of the responses are being made to the House of Bishops' statement, "A Response to Questions and Concerns Raised by Our Anglican Communion Partners." (http://episcopalchurch.org/79901_90457_ENG_HTM.htm)
House of Deputies President Bonnie Anderson, who attended the first four days of the House of Bishops meeting in New Orleans at the bishops' invitation, commended () the statement as "rich and nuanced."
Diocesan bishops have also begun communicating with their laity and clergy about their reactions to the house's work.

House of Deputies president responds to House of Bishops statement
[Episcopal News Service] House of Deputies President Bonnie Anderson, who attended the first four days of the House of Bishops meeting in New Orleans at the bishops' invitation, has responded to the actions taken by the house.
She said the bishops' statement, "A Response to Questions and Concerns Raised by Our Anglican Communion Partners," (http://episcopalchurch.org/79901_90457_ENG_HTM.htm) is "comprehensive."
"It calls for careful reading, reflection and discussion," Anderson said, asking Episcopalians to be in dialogue with and prayer for their bishops after they have studied the statement.
The full text of Anderson's statement is available at http://www.episcopalchurch.org/79901_90514_ENG_HTM.htm.

FEATURES
Evangelism via Internet
[Episcopal Life] The Rev. Ann Fontaine in Lander, Wyoming, sends this idea for evangelism among the young: Get a MySpace page.
"If you feel it's too unprofessional try LinkedIn," writes the former Executive Council member in an e-mail to colleagues. "Encourage your fellow church members to get up there as well and link in their friends and associates. Within a few days, you'll be able to browse through not just the congregation, but all their friends who may not be attending church. Not only that, but you will have information about their interests and who the best person is to contact all these people who are one degree of separation away from joining the flock.
"If it works for rock bands, why aren't you letting it work for Jesus?" she asks. (Be aware that some material posted on MySpace may not meet everyone's approval.)
