VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 10/04/07) - Dr. Sumner M. Grant, executive director of The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board (MMBB), has announced the consolidation of a number of MMBB functions that historically have been performed at the Mission Center. These will be transferred to the New York office effective December 31, 2007. The change will result in greater efficiencies and cost effectiveness in serving MMBB's plan members and employers. MMBB will maintain a limited presence at the ABCUSA Mission Center in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Kenneth Stout, MMBB's regional representative for Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, based in Fairlawn, NJ, will become the regional representative for Mission Center staff. Other MMBB staff transitions will be announced at a later date.
Commenting on the transition, Grant said, "MMBB values its long presence at the Mission Center and its employees who have faithfully served ABCUSA personnel for over 42 years. The ready availability of regional representatives and improvements in technology have made the full staffing of a separate office unnecessary. Though change is difficult, we believe that the reallocation of these resources to an increased number of regional representatives will enable MMBB to more equitably serve all of our members.
As always, members and employers may call MMBB, toll-free, at 800-986-6222 with benefits questions.
