VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 11/28/07) - The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board (MMBB) has published the 2007 issue of ABC People, a full-color magazine celebrating the rich and varied lives led by retired American Baptist ministers, missionaries and their widowed spouses. The cover story features MMBB annuitants who, in 2007, served as summer volunteers at the American Baptist Assembly/Green Lake Conference Center, Green Lake, Wis. Twenty-one annuitant volunteers are pictured on the cover, standing in the rose garden with Judson Tower in the background.
John "Bud" and Parm Carroll, two of the volunteers, have a long history with ABCUSA and Green Lake. For 30 years, Bud was on the staff of Educational Ministries (then Board of Education and Publication), with responsibilities for youth, camps and conference ministries as well as church education, curriculum development and leadership training. One of the Carrolls' ongoing summer assignments is to coordinate Elderhostel Programs at the Conference Center.
Another of the regular Green Lake volunteers, Harriet Dowdy, has been hostess/docent at the historic Chapel Car Grace for nearly twelve years.

The Brewster Baptist Church, Brewster, Mass., and its pastor, the Rev. Dr. Douglas Scalise, are recognized for outstanding support of the 2006 Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering (RMMO). The congregation is the 2007 recipient of the annual Widow's Mite Award, which will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 16.
