VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 12/19/07) - HGTV has chosen Curtis Park Community Center, Denver, Colo.-a Neighborhood Action Program related to National Ministries ABCUSA-as one of 30 projects to be rebuilt in a community revitalization and environmental cause effort.
At the HGTV Web site, American Baptists can support Curtis Park by casting a vote for this community project as most deserving of a makeover. You can vote once a day until Dec. 21.
The revitalization effort, Change the Word. Start at Home has been launched by HGTV in partnership with three organizations: Rebuilding Together, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
Along with Curtis Park, neighborhoods in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Long Island, Portland, San Francisco, Twin Cities and Washington, D.C. are vying for votes.
Four winners, based on the highest number of votes, will be announced during HGTV's Rose Parade coverage on January 1. Beginning April 28, 2008, the projects in each of the winning markets will be completed through the help of volunteers and HGTV partners.
