WCC ECUMENICAL OFFICERS MEETING

Ecumenical officers of the World Council of Churches member churches
convened a meeting in Geneva may 20 ­ 22. Some forty representatives from
churches in Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Latin
America participated in the meeting. The issues on the agenda were: the mai n
ecumenical facets of each church, the reports of WCC project managers,
ecumenical relations and the mission of the church in globalized societies,
the imperative or the unity of the church, the importance of ecumenical
relations, the activity of the youth department, the situation in the Middl e
East and the need to overcome violence, and issues related to climate
changes.
