A group of around 20 young pilgrims from South Australia have had an
experience they never counted on to end their journey, and one they'll
probably never forget.

The pilgrims, accompanied by Adelaide Archbishop Jeffrey Driver and his
wife Lindy, have been on a month pilgrimage to the Sudan, Addis Abiba in
Ethiopia, and Egypt where they have been visiting ministries. Among the
highlights for the pilgrims has been the visit to the Sinai Peninsula.
They climbed Mt Sinai and Archbishop Jeffrey joked his legs were still
hurting. They also visited St Catherine's monastery, a biblically
significant location and another highlight. Bishop Mouneer Anis was
pleased to welcome the group to Egypt and was able to meet with the
group in Cairo and Alexandria.

The pilgrimage provided the opportunity for the young Christians to meet
young Muslims in an event that was spiritually enriching for both
groups.

Towards the end of the group's visit they found themselves in
Alexandria, where the Primates are meeting. Much to the surprise of the
group, the Archbishop of Canterbury arranged to meet with them for a
short discussion. Several Archbishops also took the opportunity to hear
about their travels, including the Primate of the Australia, Dr Phillip
Aspinall, the Primate of Canada Frederick Hiltz and Dr Mouneer Hanna
Anis President Bishop, Jerusalem & the Middle East & Bishop in Egypt
with North Africa and the Horn of Africa.
