PCT General Secretary reiterates goals, urges support

As the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) approaches “PCT  Ministries Sunday”,

PCT General Secretary Andrew Chang urged fellow believers to pray  fervently and

give generously to ministries supported by the PCT. He also  encouraged them to

become involved in at least one ministry and join fellow  Christians in proclaiming

>the gospel.

Chang hopes that collective efforts will result in an influx of  new Christians and

members by the time the PCT celebrates its 145th anniversary next  year. He hopes

to increase the current number of members from 230,000 to 250,000  before next

year, and reach 300,000 before the PCT celebrates its 150th  anniversary.

Chang highlighted that the General Assembly has directed its focus  to evangelism

in all of its ministries in recent years. As a result of this  shift, there has been a

significant decrease in disputes within churches and  organizations, as well as an

increase in productivity during staff meetings.

The General Assembly plans to continue in this direction with an  added focus on

effective use of resources and resource reorganization among its  affiliated

organizations. It hopes these strategies will increase positive  interaction and

effective cooperation among PCT organizations.
