PCT-affiliated NETV receives public acclaim for kids’  programs

New Eyes Television (NETV), a television network affiliated with  the Presbyterian

Church in Taiwan (PCT), was recently nominated by Taiwan Media  Watch for

receiving the highest number of recommendations for its  children’s program

“BiBi Snow House”. The program garnered five stars and  was a leading

contender in the list of nominated shows airing in the months of  July, August, and

>September.

This accolade couldn’t come at a better time for the  cash-strapped network

striving to make good-quality programs and the public support was  certainly

>encouraging to network leaders.

According to Taiwan Media Watch, 51 programs from 9 television  networks were

recommended for the third quarter of 2009 and with special  emphasis on

children’s programs because of summer vacations. A lot of new  programs in

recent months have catered to younger audiences so that children  have more

>options to choose from.

One of the programs nominated for the first time was “BiBi  Snow House” and the

show went on to win a five-star accolade, an unusual and  extraordinary feat for

any program. The recognition is a priceless encouragement to NETV  staff

involved in creating and coordinating programs.

Since it became a cable television network about one year ago  after starting out

in internet channel, NETV has produced an impressive report card  by receiving

nominations from Taiwan Media Watch every quarter. This contest  between

networks is also a reminder and encouragement to all networks to  produce

>socially relevant and encouraging programs.

NETV is encouraging viewers to show their support for good  programming

>through much-needed financial support.
