PCT members brave the elements and intercede for Taiwan

Taipei Presbytery organized a prayer meeting on April 24 at 9:00 a.m. at a
park in Taipei

County. The prayer meeting was part of the national PCT prayer movement “Lift
my eyes to

the hills” spearheaded by the PCT General Assembly for the purpose of praying
for Taiwan

>during these trying times.

Though the day was cloudy and rainy, the prayer meeting still managed to
attract a big crowd.

Many people, regardless of age, braved cold weather, wind, and rain to attend
the prayer

meeting. They held umbrellas, donned raincoats, and stood on damp soil to
worship God

together. Some had even left their homes early in the morning and cycled to
the park amid the

>rain to get to the venue on time.

“Taiwan needs educational, financial, and political reform now,” said Taipei
Presbytery

Moderator Rev. Wu Chien-chu, adding that the best way for Christians to change
present

social circumstances is to pray to God. Taiwanese Christians must pray for
Taiwan because

>this land sustains every Taiwanese, said Wu.
