WSC-AR Announces Newly Elected Regional Committee
The World Sikh Council - America Region (WSC-AR) has completed its electi on
process and the following Sikh Americans have been appointed to its Regio nal
Committee (governing board) for 2010:

The Regional Committee is the governing body of WSC-AR. All sixteen membe rs of
the Regional Committee are elected by member organizations through a nati onal
nomination process. Committee members are elected for three-year terms.
One-third of the committee members are replaced every year.
For 2010, five retiring members on the Regional Committee are replaced fo r the
term 2010-2012. The WSC-AR election procedure is a consensus building pro cess
in which canvassing for candidates is strongly discouraged.
The World Sikh Council - America Region (WSC-AR) is a representative and
elected body of Sikh Gurdwaras and institutions in the United States. Its
members include 45 Gurdwaras (Sikh places of worship) and other Sikh
institutions, across the nation. WSC-AR works to promote Sikh interests a t the
national and international level focusing on issues of advocacy, educatio n, and
well-being of humankind.
