The handiwork of Diane Millner will be an integral part of the 219th General
Assembly when participants gather to worship on Sunday morning.
Millner, of Stockholm, Wisc., was selected by the Committee on Local
Arrangements for the 219th GA to make the Communion ware that will be used in
worship.
According to an article in Presbyterian Neighbor News, Millner has created
hand-thrown functional stoneware for more than 25 years.
Millner produced 450 chalices and 225 plates for use in the service that is
expected to draw together Assembly-goers and thousands of Presbyterians in
Minneapolis-St. Paul and the surrounding region.
The potter?s handiwork was chosen because it
?aptly illustrates this General Assembly?s theme,
?Out of the believer?s heart shall flow rivers of living water.?
Outgoing Moderator of the 218th General Assembly
(2008) the Rev. Bruce Reyes-Chow and Vice-Moderator the Rev. Byron Wade
received Communion plates as gifts for their service over the past two years.
