CHICAGO (ELCA) -- The two largest Lutheran denominations in the
United States are committed to helping rebuild the U.S. Gulf Coast
following the 2005 hurricane season, which included Hurricane Katrina.
Although two separate church bodies, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America (ELCA) and The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) are fixed on
reminding the people of New Orleans that "they are not forgotten."
