Episcopal Church women join '16 Days' campaign against gender violence

[Episcopal News Service] Aside from the one obvious thing they have 
in comm on, Episcopal Church Women, the Episcopal Women's Caucus and 
Anglican Women 's Empowerment all have historically worked on women's 
justice issues.

Now they are combining forces and joining Rutgers University's Center 
for W omen's Global Leadership in its annual international "16 Days 
of Activism A gainst Gender Violence" campaign Nov. 25-Dec. 10.

TEXAS: Friendswood parish helps to found Horizon School for children 
with d isabilities

[Texas Episcopalian] Lori and Tom Ferazzi were out of options. For 
years, t hey searched for the best educational opportunities for 
their son, Eric, wh o has Down syndrome, but every road was a dead 
end. Their journey eventuall y led home to their church, Good 
Shepherd in Friendswood, where the rector,  the Rev. Jim Nelson, 
helped them found The Horizon School.

[Texas Episcopalian] After 16 African-American students and faculty 
from Hu ston-Tillotson College in Austin could not find a hospitable 
Episcopal chur ch in which to worship during the 1940s, they decided 
to start their own.
