Bulletin inserts for Nov. 28 offer a meditation on first Sunday of 
Advent

The first Sunday of Advent falls this year on Nov. 28, and ENS Weekly
bulletin inserts for that day feature a meditation by the Rev. Tony
Clavier, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, La Porte, in the
Diocese of Northern Indiana, on the church's "subversive" mission as
it begins a new church year.

"We are subversive," writes Clavier. "We seek to bring the love of
Christ into the secular world because we believe that ultimately the
world will be restored to God. In the meantime, we work and pray to
transform what is into what shall be."
