Says Episcopal Church's recognition of continuing diocese, bishop is 
not su bject to legal challenge

[Episcopal News Service] The ongoing property dispute between the 
continuin g Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin and a breakaway group is 
headed back to  a Fresno County Superior Court, an appellate court 
ruled Nov. 18.

ITALY: Williams 'regrets but respects' bishops' conversions to Rome

[Episcopal News Service] Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams said 
in a  Nov. 17 interview with Vatican Radio in Rome that his reaction 
to the recen t decision by five suffragan and assistant bishops in 
the Church of England  to resign and convert to Roman Catholicism was 
one of "regret and respect."

PHILIPPINES: Anglican leader renews appeal to free 43 detainees

has ren ewed an appeal for supporters to help persuade President 
Benigno Aquino to  free 43 detainees, most of them church-based 
health workers detained for mo re than nine months, and whom the 
military has accused of being communist r ebels.
