Shane Bishop was honored as the 2010 Distinguished Evangelist of The United Methodist Church on Nov. 21 during worship services at Christ Church. Jack Ewing, executive director of The Foundation for Evangelism, made the presentation. âSelecting and recognizing the Distinguished Evangelist of The United Methodist Church each year is one of the most significant things that The Foundation for Evangelism does,â Ewing said. âShane is an outstanding selection. His love for and support of The United Methodist Church is without question and his commitment to building the Kingdom of God is incredible.â Clarification: âAdvisory group on steroidsâ tackles reform NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) â The Interim Operations Team, which will put the finishing touches on a plan to increase vital congregations, will operate with a $750,000 budget. The Connectional Table initially requested $450,000 for the Interim Operations Team, but the General Council on Finance and Administration approved additional funding to support the project over a two-year period.
