(UMNS) â To commemorate the anniversary of the Haiti earthquake and remind the world of the plight of the Haitian people, IMA World Health â which provides healthcare in developing countries â is dedicating the month of January as a time of prayer for Haiti and inviting churches to choose a day to [20]lift up Haiti in prayer. When the earthquake struck, three IMA staff members â Rick Santos, Sarla Chand and Ann Varghese â were trapped beneath the rubble of the Hotel Montana with three United Methodist colleagues, the Revs. Jim Gulley, Sam Dixon and Clinton Rabb. Dixon and Rabb died from their injuries. Foundation for Evangelism names interim director LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. (UMNS) â The Foundation for Evangelism board of trustees has appointed Jane Boatwright Wood as interim executive director, succeeding John "Jack" Ewing, who is the new executive director for Lake Junaluska Assembly, Inc. Wood has served as vice president at the Foundation, an affiliate of the United Methodist Board of Discipleship, for the past six years.
