Taiwan’s east coast recently held the largest Christian youth conference
in years, with 1,500

youths registering for a 4-day youth camp and as many as 3,500 youths
attending the gospel

      meeting on the last day.

“Hualien Passionate Youths Conference” began on July 12 at Hualien
Gymnasium, sponsored

by Asia for Jesus, Taipei Truth Church Youth Zone, and House of Dreams
Youth Development

      Center.

According to Rev. Huang Lien-hsing from East Coast Presbytery, this
conference was the

largest youth gathering he had seen in his 26 years of ministry in
Taiwan’s east coast. It was

quite a magnificent sight to see so many youths worshipping God together.

The main speakers of this conference were Pastor Philip Mantofa from
Mawar Sharon Church

in Surabaya, Indonesia and other prominent youth pastors in Taipei area.
They called on

youths to give their lives to God and to dream big when it comes to being
in God’s service and

being the leaders and influencers of this generation.

The conference began with an Aborigine performance from a PCT church in
Taoyuan on the

themes of revival and bravery – just a few of the main themes emphasized
during the

conference – as youths were encouraged to “take back the land of Canaan”
given them by

      God.

One youth counselor from a PCT church reported that youths at his church
who used to be shy

and introverts were transformed and emboldened by this conference.

He hoped the conference would serve as a stepping stone for more youth
ministries and

kickstart a spiritual revival in eastern Taiwan. He said an outreach
center for youths in Hualien

and Taitung would start soon to train and equip youths in eastern Taiwan.
