Bulletin inserts for Aug. 22 describe interfaith efforts at Faith House
Manhattan

[Episcopal News Service] "Episcopalians are part of a church with a long
history of interreligious relations," writes Bowie Snodgrass in ENS
Weekly bulletin inserts for Aug. 22. "The 2009 'Theological Statement on
Interreligious Relations' passed by General Convention reminds us that
'prominent Episcopalians were involved in the first World Parliament of
the Religions in 1893.'" Snodgrass describes how Faith House Manhattan,
of which she is executive director, brings together people of various
faiths to explore their differences and what they have in common, an
experience she describes as essential to faith in these times.

but easy to carry ... and stylish too. The XL Bible also features a
concordance, craft-sewn binding for added strength and long life,
craft-made Amalfi cover with special, imported Bible paper, and a ribbon

The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) is recognized in scholarly
circles as the most accurate translation into English of the original
Hebrew and Greek texts. In the tradition of its predecessors, the King
James Version and the Revised Standard Version, the NRSV was designed to
be the standard version for English-speaking people across all
denominations. None of the new, more sectarian translations have
approached its standards of elegance and accuracy. This edition also
includes the Apocryphal and Deuterocanonical books of Scripture.
