It includes a DVD and study guide with instructions on preparing an event to raise awareness about domestic violence. Church communicators support Internet freedom WASHINGTON (UMNS) -- Communicators representing a wide range of national church bodies, including The United Methodist Church, have called upon the Federal Communications Commission "to take any and all action" to protect the freedom of the Internet. Noting that Internet communication is "vital" to faith groups as they share their stories and build communities, the National Council of Churches Communication Commission has issued a resolution urging the FCC to "protect the freedom of every individual and group to see and hear and send any information they desire." British faithful join forces on poverty SWANWICK, England (UMNS) â In a joint Oct. 13-15 meeting, the United Reformed and British Methodist churches joined forces to challenge the causes of poverty and inequality ingrained in British society and to campaign for benefit and wage policies that allow people to live and work in dignity. âIn all our discussions, we have seen a deeper commitment to working together to make Christâs love known in the world, to challenge poverty and injustice wherever we find it, and to support and share with one another on our different journeys,â said the Rev. Alison Tomlin, president of the British Methodist Conference. Did someone you know pass along this copy to you? Get your own copy [18]here.
