The Pilgrim Press launches 'Your Life, Better' book series and weekly, streamlined e-newsletter

When The Pilgrim Press joined the UCC's communication ministry one year ago, it envisioned reaching out to serve the people in the pews.
That goal now accomplished, the vision will come to full fruition this spring with the introduction of "Your Life, Better" -- a book series offering transformative, creative and straightforward suggestions to add spirituality to everyday experiences.
"Your Life, Better" was first conceived last summer as a weekly web series within the new "Feed Your Spirit" section of ucc.org. It offers timely, practical tips to help readers personalize their faith journeys.
Web users now will be able to get even more of what they want, building on the "Feed Your Spirit" page and the UCC's "<http://www.facebook.com/uccrequestaprayer>Request a Prayer" page on Facebook. In addition, readers' ideas for "Your Life, Better" are strongly encouraged, including suggestions of potential topics to be explored.
"Feedback on the <http://www.ucc.org/feed-your-spirit/your-life-better/>web-based 'Your Life, Better' -- along with the desire and need for current resources that focus on personal, spiritual development -- is positive," said the Rev. J. Bennett Guess, director of the UCC's Publishing, Identity and Communication Ministry.
When the need to communicate the vast number of resources and programs available to clergy and non-clergy alike became apparent, a new, streamlined e-newsletter from UCC Resources was developed.
"Your Church. Your Voice. Your Store" will replace the current "Igniting Leaders" and "Igniting Readers" e-newsletters. Encompassing the best of The Pilgrim Press, Stillspeaking and UCC Resources, it will be delivered via email on Thursday afternoons beginning March 3, 2011.
Those currently receiving information from "Igniting Leaders," "Igniting Readers" or "Stillspeaking Voices" will automatically receive "Your Church. Your Voice. "I'm excited to continue to reach those who support Stillspeaking by joining with readers of The Pilgrim Press to spread the good news message," said the Rev. Felix J. Carrion, Stillspeaking coordinator.
