Wisconsin ELCA Synod Bishops Respond to State Budget Stalemate

CHICAGO (ELCA) -- The six bishops of the Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America (ELCA) who serve ELCA synods in Wisconsin told the state's
governor and members of the state legislature that they are praying for
them as the lawmakers deal with difficult state budget issues. The
bishops also called on the state officials to pay particular attention to
people who may be vulnerable if certain state programs are eliminated or
reduced.
