"Malaria kills enough people to fill two jumbo jets every day. We know nets
are important, but with Imagine No Malaria we are helping to bring more
education about the disease, training health-care workers and improving
hospitals and clinics in Africa." - Bishop John R. Schol of the
                      Baltimore-Washington Conference.

Imagine No Malaria gifts top $15 million

WASHINGTON (UMNS) - Gifts to Imagine No Malaria recently surpassed $15
million, thanks to caring United Methodists who donated to special offerings
and participated in fundraisers to wipe out the mosquito-borne disease.

Online Bible study explores contemporary issues

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) - The United Methodist Church is set to debut an
online Bible study beginning March 14. Participants will have an opportunity
to explore and discuss contemporary topics and how they relate to the
Christian faith in response to the call to Rethink Church. Participants who
sign on for the Encounter Faith Bible study, available for free at
[15]RethinkChurch.org/encounterfaith, will look at timely issues, such as
the demonstrations in North Africa and the Middle East, through the lens of
   faith.
[16]United Methodist Communications collaborated with the [17]United
Methodist Publishing House to produce the online version of Cokeburyâs
popular FaithLink: Connecting Faith and Life curriculum. FaithLink takes hot
topics - from headline makers to faith questions - and makes them the focus
of Bible study. Encounter Faith also complements the Rethink Church Lenten
series, âFearless: The Courage to Question.â

Event grows to challenge United Methodist youth

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) - United Methodist youth, ages 12-18, on both sides
of the country will gather in July for a nationwide event sponsored by the
United Methodist Board of Discipleship. For the first time, Youth 2011 will
meet twice in two locations: July 13-16 at Purdue University in West
Lafayette, Ind., and July 27-30 at the Convention Center in Sacramento,
Calif. "We just wanted everybody in the church nationwide to feel like they
could attend without as much trouble as they may have had in the past," said
Blake Thornell, Youth 2011 event coordinator.
