“It is a ground for building the young woman’s capacity into womanhood. We
are groomed to become responsible women or adults. Our spiritual growth is
also enhanced.” — Sylvanet Tawa on the Young Women’s Network in Sierra

Faith leaders seek criminal-justice reform

WASHINGTON (UMNS) — More than 20 faith leaders from across the United States

NCC’s ‘Circle of Names’ honors Dauway

NEW YORK (UMNS) — Lois McCullough Dauway, a retired church executive who
worked for the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries, United Methodist
Women and the National Council of Churches, was among the three women
honored June 14 at a “Circles of Names” gathering. An NCC project,
the [18]Circles of Names campaign creates a circle of support for women's
ministries by asking a thousand people to give $100 each in the name of a
woman who helped shape their faith.
