Emerging Christianity workshop slated

DALLAS (UMNS) — Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology
has helped plan a workshop and conference on emerging Christianity for
pastors and lay leaders. The event, titled “The Four Cornerstones of
Emerging Christianity,” is scheduled Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at Preston Hollow
Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Brian McLaren, author, activist and public
theologian, will be among the speakers. Emerging churches aim to practice
the way of Jesus within postmodern cultures. Perkins is co-sponsoring the
workshop with Life in the Trinity Ministry. The cost is $90 per person
before Sept. 6 and $110 after. Groups of three or more receive a discount.
