World Council of Churches - News ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY DELIVERS A LECTURE ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND FAITH For immediate release: 28 February 2012 Dr Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, spoke on faith, human rights and human dignity, during a keynote presentation, Tuesday, 28 February at the World Council of Churches headquarters in Geneva. The presentation was titled “Human Rights and Religious Faith (Link: http://www.oikoumene.org/index.php?RDCT=702d3e5bb094b802aed7 )”. Williams became the Archbishop of Canterbury in 2003. He is the senior bishop of the worldwide Anglican Communion, a first among equals amongst fellow bishops. A renowned theologian, he has been involved in several theological, ecumenical and educational commissions and has authored a number of books.
