Ecumenical Advisory Delegates For 1999 to Be Recommended

    by Nancy Rodman

CHARLOTTE-The Assembly Committee on Catholicity and Ecumenical Relations
has approved the list of churches that will, once the Assembly gives its
approval, be invited to send Ecumenical Advisory Delegates to the 211th
General Assembly in 1999.
Churches to be invited from the United States include the Armenian
Apostolic Church (Prelacy), Korean Presbyterian Church in America (KPCA),
African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America (ELCA), and Church of the Brethren.
Overseas churches to be invited to send advisory delegates are the
Presbyterian Church of East Africa, Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar,
Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola, Brethren (Lutheran/Reformed),
The Dominican Evangelical Church (DEC), Pentecostal Mission Church of
Chile, Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT), China Christian Council (CCC),
The Christian Church of East Timor, The Evangelical Lutheran Church of
Jordan, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Evangelical Church of the Czech
Brethren.
Churches are invited on a rotating basis and are part of the Churches
of Christ around the world. Many have fraternal relationships with the
Presbyterian Church(U.S.A.). The purpose of including Ecumenical Advisory
Delegates at the General Assembly is to express oneness with all the
Churches of Christ.
