Taiwan Church News 3054 Edition September 6~12, 2010 CJCU welcomes back students, faculty, and parents with a new covenant Reported by Chen Yi-hsuan Written by Lydia Ma To ease parents’ worries and concerns over releasing their children into the real world and into a college campus, PCT-affiliated Chang Jung Christian University in Tainan held a symposium for parents, faculty members, and students on September 5, 2010, just a few days before the start of another school year. The symposium “A shining plan – a love covenant” introduced 5 general rules to help students, parents, and faculty members reach out to one another, watch out for one another, and keep one another accountable, including: Care for the environment by saving energy, reducing waste, and recycling; maintain high ethical standards by observing boundaries, cherish the value of life by observing traffic laws and driving safely; live a disciplined life by going to bed and getting up early; and become disciplined students through punctuality. After these 5 rules were read aloud during the symposium, Chang Jung Christian University President Chen Chin-seng ceremoniously lighted 5 candles held by 5 student representatives to convey everyone’s hope that this generation of students will succeed and shine brightly. ******************** Taiwan Church News is published weekly in Taiwan's local languages.
