UM Men launch prison ministries

   NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) ââ The General Commission on United 
Methodist Men
   has forged a partnership with Disciple Bible Outreach Ministries 
of North
   Carolina in order to bring Disciple Bible Study to prisons across 
the U.S.
   The  studies  are  transformational  for  both  volunteers  and 
prison

Lake Junaluska plans multicultural conference

   LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. (UMNS) â A Dec. 2-4 multicultural conference 
at Lake
   Junaluska will feature Tim Tyson, award-winning author of âBlood 
Done Sign
   My Name;â Anne Marshall, a United Methodist activist on indigenous 
and
   racism issues; and the Rev. Mary John Dye, who began her ministry 
as the
   first  cross-racial  appointment  in the Mississippi Annual 
(regional)
   Conference.  âPersons will come together in a safe, life-affirming 
and
   life-transforming environment to explore the common bond of Godâs 
love for
   all,â said the Rev. Jimmy Carr, executive director of Lake 
Junaluska. Early
