I think a lot of times, we focus on the paper and not really think about the words. ... If the words are in our minds and our hearts, then it means more to us. And we express the words better than just singing what we read." - Jeremy Carter, United Methodist director of music. Study shows how black churches use music LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Music stirs worshippers' souls and moves their feet each Sunday morning at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. The experience at Wesley Chapel is common to many other predominantly African-American United Methodist congregations, according to a newly released study. Bishop Deborah Lieder Kiesey has also offered a [23]message to Dakotas Annual (regional) Conference members, reminding them that they are not alone in this fight to save people's homes.
