Meeting of the LWF Council, 9 â?? 14 June 2011, Geneva,
Switzerland

>Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Greetings and good wishes to you. We invite you to apply for
media accreditation to the forthcoming meeting of the Council of
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF), which will take place from:

09 June to 14 June 2011 at the Ecumenical Centerin Geneva,
Switzerland.

The Council is responsible for the business of the LWF between
Assemblies. It consists of the President, the Treasurer and 48
people both pastors and lay persons drawn from the LWF member
churches. The current Council members were appointed at the July
2010 Eleventh Assembly in Stuttgart, Germany. 

All the Council meeting sessions will take place at the
ECUMENICAL CENTER.                                               

>The Council Time Schedule

This yearâ??s Council meeting will begin with an Opening Service
on Thursday 9 June 2011 at 08.30 am in the chapel of the
Ecumenical Center. 

>Some Highlights:

·       Address of the LWF President Bishop Dr Munib A. Younan

·       Report of the LWF General Secretary Rev. Martin Junge

·       Report of the Treasurer Ms Christina Jackson-Skelton

·       Keynote address by Mr Antonio Guterres, United Nations
High Commissioner for Refugees

·       Adoption of the LWF Strategy 2012- 2017

·       Sunday Eucharistic Service at the Ecumenical Chapel

due course.

Registration Form to Ms Béatrice Bengtsson at
